Almost one month down

With almost 1/12 of the year out of the way, I thought I would take a look at how I was doing with my New Year's Resolutions for 2006.

Resolution #1 was to read 30 books....I am doing very poorly on this resolution. I have just completed my first book of 2006 today.

Resolution #2 was to teach myself to knit. I have done a little knitting, but haven't really gotten into it. So, while having completed the goal, I have not made a project.

Resolution #3 was to sew more. I have dome more sewing in 2006 than I did in all of 2005. So I am doing well on this resolution, but plan on doing even more sewing in the near future.

Resolution #4 was to drop my BMI by 5 points. I have officially dropped my BMI 1 point so far this year.

So I have done pretty well on my resolutions, but there is always room for improvement.

Go Ninja, go ninja, go ninja, go!

So, I spotted this on Luke's Xanga a while ago and have shared it with several people since then. I almost wet my pants everytime I see it and think it is absolutely hilarious. It reminds me a little of Napoleon Dynamite...and...I have to admit, I kind of want to try it sometime. Maybe next Halloween....:-)

"I'm illiterate?"

The other day, I received a phone call from someone trying to give me a GREAT deal on the New York Post...and they would even deliver it to my house.

I declined the offer. When the man asked why I declined, I blurted out, "I'm illiterate!"**

**I am not really illiterate.

99 cent goodness

Today for lunch, I had part of a package of Lipton Teriyaki Noodles. The whole package is only about $.99, but they are so delicious. I have been eatting them since I was in college and they are super easy to cook. Add water and boil. Yumm yumm.

Bert? Bob? Binkey?

Picture of the new bike helmet. I like that it is a matte color and not super shiney. I wouldn't want the sun to reflect off my helmet, blind a driver and make them hit me with thier car, because of my helmet. I pretty much name everything I own. I am now taking suggestions of names for my new helmet....I'm pretty sure it's a boy bike helmet. I was thinking Bert. What do you think?

Small head...big heart?!?!

Last night before going to meet Aaron, Tommy, and Steve, I headed to Target to look for a bike helmet. My intention was to get an all black helmet. After reading the bike helmet fitting guide, I was instructed to try on many sizes and styles to find one that fit me best.

I tried on a a couple of adult helmets and they were all way too big. So, knowing that I have always had a small head, I tried on a youth. Still too big! I tried on a couple more youth and they fit fine. I had almost decided on a hot pink helmet with lady bugs(my bike is kinda pink). Then I tried on one more helmet and it fit the best. It's not as cute, but it fit better. I am now the proud owner of a gray and red bike helmet.

Good times at the Hyatt

Aaron was in town this weekend with his friends Tommy and Steve. I went and hung with them at their hotel room then drove them downtown to go out. I had a ton of fun and love them all.

What a bunch of hotties.

BCVDC=LOVE

Jenne and I have become OBSESSED with the new flavor of Diet Coke. It is Black Cherry Vanilla Diet Coke. There is only one word to describe it...AMAZING! We were both a little leary, because we both HATED regular Vanilla, but this is just incredible. Jenne bought one 12-pack two days ago to give it a try. Today we went back to the grocery store and bought 6 more 12-packs(it's on special this week). I was even trying to convince people in the store to buy it, that is how good it is. Too bad all the cases don't fit in our fridge.

Funny funny

Tonight, I was caught offgaurd by a funny patient at work.

The patient asked why group hadn't started yet and I was trying to explain to him that they were currently cleaning the room that we would be using and we would start a few minutes late. He interrupted my explanation and said

"Excuses are like buttholes. Everybody has one and they all STINK."

While, he was mildly inappropriate, I told him so and continuted to laugh out loud.

I have big (ecological) feet

After reading Angie's blog, I was inclined to see what type of foot print I was leaving on Earth.

BNE 2006

Don't they look like they are having fun on the Best Night Ever?

slow on the blogging front

Sorry things have been slow on the blogging front, but I have been a busy girl lately.

This past weekend, I had Mel and Aaron in town and we had the BNE(Best Night Ever)!

That is about all I have to report for now.

Ode to 2005

The year 2005...NOT a bore
But, all the traveling could have left my butt quite sore

"Go Hawks" is what I yelled in January
The last second catch was just plain scary

In February, my dad turned another year older
And the weather kept turning colder

In March I headed to Marco Island with my bags all packed
Where I laid on the beach and burned my back

In late April there was a trip to Iowa City
Where Aaron and I celebrated our 24th with a little ditty

I made the trip there again in Mid-May
To watch Josh get his law school diploma the I-O-way

I moved on a very hot day in June
With the help of my family, I now have a much bigger room

In July, to St Louis I was headed, until I got a flat
But I got there, saw my family and the Cardinals swing the bat

August and September were full of work, work, work
Unlike camp, this was not work I could shirk

In October, to my grandparents and Columbus, I did drive
Somehow, the Taurus is still alive

To Iowa City and Madison did I go in November
The Hawks beat MN and eating Russian dumplings, I will always remember

December was busy, but also full of rest
I spent the holidays with family and mine's the very best.

New Year's Resolutions

In the year 2006, I Stacey Lens, resolve to:

1) Read 30 books.
2) Teach myself to knit.
3) Sew more.
4) Drop my BMI 5 points.

What are yours?
