Schiavo dies at 41

This is my first and only post on this situation.
Not to be a heartless bitch, but this case has been beaten like a dead horse by the media. Please return news coverage to other things. Thank you.

REST IN PEACE.

A few days in paradise

This is the fabulous house I stayed in Marco Island. It belongs to Shel and Pat Bell, Megan's grandparents. What a great vacation.

Where have I been?

Sorry for the long draught in blogging. I have been soaking up the rays on Marco Island since Sunday. The weather was great and being lazy was plentiful. I even got a new pair of flip flops...get out your shocked face. Photos to be coming soon.

Bracketology

Go Hawks for making the big dance. I am not so sure I would have them ranked in the number 10 spot. It may be giving them too much credit, as they are known for choaking, unfortunately. I still think Iowa needs to get rid of Alford..he's toxic.

On a side note, I would LOVE to see a Duke vs Iowa match-up.

Take a look at the bracket.

Average U.S. gas price tops $2 a gallon

I've lived in Chicago since August and gas prices dropped to $1.99 for about a two week period since I've lived here. Now is the time for the rest of the US to feel the constant pain in my gas (prices). Bad joke I know.

Iowa in the News

TV Soap Star Arrested in IowaMar 8, 2:28 AM EST
The Associated Press
DES MOINES, Iowa -- Soap opera star Jason Cook was arrested after he allegedly became argumentative with airport officials who found a pipe with marijuana debris in his luggage.
The "Days of Our Lives" actor was arrested Monday at the Des Moines International Airport about 6 a.m. Monday on charges of public intoxication and drug paraphernalia.
He was in Des Moines over the weekend for the 31st annual Variety Club telethon.
"Jason appeared to be intoxicated, showing signs as bloodshot watery eyes, argumentative behavior, inability to follow instructions and smelled strongly of an alcoholic beverage," a police report said.
Stan Reynolds, volunteer producer of the telethon, said he bailed Cook out of jail.
"I'm just sick to my stomach over this. I just love this young man. This is his fourth year coming here to help us, and he just works his tail off for the kids," Reynolds said.
The telethon raised $3.5 million for children's charities.

Crazy town, Ohio

Wow! What a weekend. After not having to been to visit Aaron in Columbus for a year and a half, we definitely make up for lost time this weekend. Friday night, we had dinner at Gibby's then hit up some house parties with Sandy as out chauffer(Thanks again, Sandy). We felt a little bit like grandparents at the undergrad one we stopped by...but that happens when you are around 18 year olds. Being the thinkers that we are, we payed attentiont to the things that we did and did not like at the house parties, so we could make Aaron's the best possible. Really, we weren't going to house parties, it was more of a educational research project.

Aaron felt the need to make me wake up at 5:30am on Saturday and sit out in the freezing cold and snow for 2 hours to wait in line for some Kenny Chesney concert tickets. He was nice enough to give me little hand heater packs to keep my hands warm. After a lot of waiting(4 hours total) and scheeming, Becky, Ruthann, and Aaron came out on top with front row seats to his concert and a few ulcers.

Needless to say, after that excitement we needed a little nap. You know the kind that starts in the morning and ends midafternoon. It was fabulous. We pulled ourselves together in the evening to head to dinner with Sandy, Chris and Dave at Zola. Dinner was fabulous with lots and lots of great conversation. After dinner, we partook in the monthly Short North Gallery Hop. We popped in and out of great art galleries through out the Short North loving and hating some of the art. We stopped by Cup O Joe for a quick drink and dessert before heading to the United Dairy Farmers to pick up some ice for the party. We started off the party right with a toast before all the guests arrived. For a full report on the party, you will have to go to Sandys blog and read about Too Much Fun to HANDLE and Gay Ass, the post. If you want to see the small collection of pics that I took, you know where to find them.

Can't wait for my next visit.
